     On behalf of the Illinois Association of Title I Directors, I welcome you to the Illinois Title I Directors Association (IATD). The Illinois Association of Title I Directors is an association composed of directors, coordinators, superintendents, teachers, principals, and assistant superintendents who administer the Title I programming in their respective schools.  This is our 31st year as an organization.  Our goal is to provide an ongoing educational forum for networking and education on Title I processes.    

 

      Our organization provides valuable networking opportunities for those involved in supervising and/or administering Title I programs in their schools.  Each year our organization hosts a joint annual statewide conference with the Illinois State Board of Education in September and two additional workshop dates in November and April.  Our conference programming is tailored to meet the needs of association and is developed through feedback and topics generated from out IATD membership.  We also provide a statewide network of experienced Title I directors to provide consultation and a membership list serve.

     I encourage you to become a member in our association and to experience the networking and educational benefits that will result from being a part of our organization.

Our Mission is:

 

• to promote and facilitate communication and cooperation among Title I education and management specialists throughout the state;
• to provide opportunity for Title I directors to discuss, propose, and take action on education issues that impact school districts in Illinois;
• to bring together and stimulate the development of the most effective and efficient programs;
• to make available a pool of human and technical resources that may be drawn upon by all school districts;
• to inform members and concerned groups about legislation that would impact compensatory education under Title I;
• to promote and provide for continuous in-service training for members, staff, and parents.
